I write books for children, and have particular interests in traditional folk tales, myths, and legends from the British Isles and around the world. My style is to mix the old and new, the familiar and bizarre, the everyday and the extraordinary, creating stories that hopefully provoke some curiosity, and above all, entertain. My first novel, Jennifer Brown and the Dagger, is centred around a little girl with some unexpected qualities.
